The ultimate research goal for PD is a "neuroprotective" treatment that would halt disease progression or a "neuroregenerative" treatment that would repair sick nerve cells and reverse the disease. No such treatment exists today, and almost all treatments for Parkinson’s disease focus only on reducing the symptoms.

Significant research continues to be performed in the pursuit of "disease-modifying" therapies, and recent scientific discoveries have increased optimism that such therapies will be developed.

What's Happening

Comal County Parkinson Support Group Annual Picnic was April 28th and we would like to thank Lone Star Parkinson Society for a wonderful day of fellowship with other people with PD and Caregivers. A huge and grateful THANK YOU to Gretchen & Marilee, LSPS Board and family members for their coordinating and volunteering services for the day.  Each and every one of you are appreciated.
